Security Night and testing

Security and testing night

An in-person meetup, with two excellent talks.

Security in software supply chains

By Andrés Torres. Software Engineer at VMware, entrepreneur, backend Ruby on Rails developer, data scientist

Attacks through the software supply chain have grown considerably over the past couple of years. One highly visible example is the SolarWinds attack, which affected 18,000 of its customers — governments, defense agencies, and information security companies among them. This talk introduces that class of attack, the tooling the industry is currently building to mitigate it, and a short demo of one of those tools on Kubernetes. It is aimed at anyone working in software.

Testing the front-end with ReactJS

By Harold Sánchez Ospina, Master Programmer at Gryffin Media

A look at the advantages, techniques, and importance of testing in professional software development, applied to the front-end with worked examples in ReactJS.
